NOISE exhibition coming soon!

Guest blog from the team currently organising the next NOISE Exhibition and project at NOISE HQ….

Whilst we (the interns) were quietly updating the databases with this year’s new creative graduates and casually looking at their amazing artwork at the same time, we were asked to help put on the next art exhibition. Cue wide eyes, huge smiles and high pitched excited voices to take it on!

We‘ve been working with young Bolton artist Rael Gough for his creative ideas. Together, we had a lot to think about; aims, objectives, venue, date,  artists,  artists’ rights & clearing, marketing, publications, design, content, copy, contributors, letters, who to ask, who should we ask?! Printing, transport, invites, protests, riots, time frame, tasks, deadlines, brain storms, meetings, goody bags and more! As well as the tasks mentioned above, we’re also working on our very own Gillian Wearing inspired piece for the exhibition. It all seemed rather overwhelming, but if NOISE has managed to plan an exhibition in 5 weeks in 2006 there’s no reason we can’t get everything together in 10!

A few weeks into the planning process now and we’ve got emails to young artists out, press release done, design/feel and content of the publication is coming along but there’s still a lot to do! We’re sourcing artwork from young, emerging and creative NOISE folk and trying to get clearing on some iconic pieces from some big big names!

We’ll be adding a webpage to www.NOISEfestival.com soon with links and downloads of press releases, artists info and fun stuff to entertain people in the run up to the exhibition launch, so watch this space! And the Twitter, Facebook and website spaces too!
